A love of music was actually the reason best friends-Maddox Sargent and Stephen Oblick moved out to Buffalo in 2006. Our drive has always been rooted in passion for supporting local anything- stores, music, artists, movements etc. Between making and promoting local music, we both worked at different types of cleaning companies for years. Using harsh chemicals in those positions led us to start a discussion on how we could change the cleaning industry by making the experience eco-friendly!

We launched THE GREEN CLEAN TEAM in 2014 with $50 in supplies, and painted the town with flyers, just like in our music days- hoping we could set ourselves apart. Six years later, looking at this journey so far- we are speechless! Our gratitude comes from total appreciation and respect for this city, clientele and other local entrepreneurs we have met along the way.

In our history of being in business, we have helped busy families share more time together, folks with depression that needed a clean space for a fresh start, homes welcoming new babies, and local businesses give their clients a great first impression. Having a clean environment is great for mental health and when you are happy- that is where we find success. No matter what your story is, we are willing to hear it and see how we can help!

Since 2014, our slogan was “bringing your space to the green standard”, this was our inventive way of expressing that we will always give you our best. We have always focused on giving you a genuine green, friendly, thorough cleaning-but inspiration has led us to wanting to build our service into something also rooted into art and love.

IN 2020, WE PROUDLY RESURFACED AS THEGREENSTANDARD.

With still providing you a fresh, eco-friendly experience-in addition, our new mission includes increasing outreach to programs and people that need help all over WNY- including offering payment plans and flexible options for all – because everyone deserves a clean home. We also have added a blog to enhance our communication with you all. This will include details about community clean ups, collecting items for donation, local events, and being part of WNY in any way we can.
